Art Now in Lebanon

Curated by Andrée Sfeir-Semler, Art Now in Lebanon offers neither an exhaustive retrospective of critical art practices as they have emerged in Beirut in the last fifteen years, nor a comprehensive survey of contemporary cultural production in Lebanon as it is being expressed now. Rather, the exhibition presents a highly selective collection of works by artists whose subjects and strategies converge as often as they diverge. The show makes masterful use of the various venues Darat al-Funun affords, and rests on curatorial gestures that are both sensitive and assertive. (K. Wilson-Goldie)
